Dans le cadre de la mise en œuvre des activités du COC, Affirmative Action a invité AVAF à un atelier. L’atelier s’est déroulé les 20 et 21 septembre 2018 au Felydac Hôtel sis à la Nouvelle Route Omnisport à Yaoundé. Il portait sur « le plaidoyer et le plan d’action du plaidoyer ». Les représentants de l’AVAF et les autres participants ont pu relever les besoins prioritaires des Lesbiennes (L) et des Trans (T) en matière de santé au Cameroun car le constat est fait que les L et les T ne sont pas pris en compte dans les politiques de santé au Cameroun. Les causes de la non prise en compte :
- la faiblesse de l’éducation sexuelle des populations en général,
- la peur de prendre les risques des décideurs politiques.
- L’expression L et/ou T n’apparait pas dans les statuts et règlement des associations y compris ceux de l’AVAF.
Les opportunités à saisir pour qu’ils soient pris en compte :
- la constitution,
- le code pénal.
Quelques recommandations :
- la production des supports éducatifs accessibles à tous et compréhensibles par tous,
- la formation en estime de soi,
- l’ouverture des centres de santé spécifique,
- la prise en compte psycho social.
Les travaux de groupe ont été formés. Le travail porte sur l’identification de 5 besoins prioritaires des L et des T en matière de santé au Cameroun.
Un grand merci au COC sans qui cet atelier n’aurait pu être organisé et à Affirmative pour les connaissances acquises.
